It's been a long time since I have written a changelog for a game mode release, and this has been in the works for a very long time, with numerous rewrites, idea changes, overhauls etc. Please note this is the first public test and depending on what bugs and issues we find during this phase, characters might be deleted at the end of the public tests.

NPCs
To begin with there will not be any NPCs, as the plugin does not currently work with Open.MP. However, I believe the plugin is being ported across at some point so I am going to wait for the plugin to work before I start working on NPC functionality. I know this might come as a disappointment to some but I feel it's better to develop the game mode using the Open.MP libraries from the beginning rather than trying to update later when it would also be a lot harder to do so. I will be taking on a role of playing a Zombie for my time in game (unless I am testing something else) so watch out, as I might be coming for you!

Decisions Made Based on Poll 1
You can see my write-up about the first poll here.
  • New characters spawn LV rather than Bayside, with the majority of features centred around the main city, future versions will expand the play area out towards Bayside.
  • Players can now have a theoretical unlimited amount of characters due to some new libraries I am making use of. However, I have set an arbitrary limit of 50 per account.
  • The playable Zombie class is not forced upon anyone, even if killed by a Zombie player.
Features
Below are the general features of the game mode.
  • Playable Zombie class
  • Scavenging
  • Inventory
  • Interiors
  • Purchasable Homes/Faction Bases
  • Faction System
  • Random weather (changes once an hour server time)
The gamemode is in its most basic form for this initial phase, as now it is time to start testing what is there and guaging options, feedback and taking suggestions to better the gamemode. This version of the gamemode has been in the works for the last couple of months on and off. More can be done with time but I want to open up the development a bit more. My plan is to see if the initial concepts I am showing with this test phase are in the right direction or whether it needs to go back to the drawing board.

You might see some unfinished features and ideas in place already as a stepping stone to later bringing them in (such as the levelling and perks for characters).

All of the scavenging functionality is centred around the Strip at the moment with some nodes on the strip itself, and some within the 24/7 and Ammunation on the strip. There are a couple of purchaseable faction bases, although I doubt anyone will make enough money to purchase those at the moment, and some housing in Pricklepine and near the Lil' Probe Inn.

The vending machine near the sex shop on the Strip can be searched for money, and the 24/7 and ammunation also have one search zone by their cash desks for money as well. Search zones will re-activate after being searched quickly during this initial phase to help simulate long term play in a shorter amount of time.

Mapping
All new mapping has been created by Logan. You have been seeing teasers on the Discord, now you can experience all the new mapping has to offer.

Feedback & Bug Reports
The key to getting this game mode right, and fun for as many people as possible is feedback from people who play it. While this site is still being setup I have created a "Public Test Feedback" category which can be used to give feedback and suggestions on the public play test versions. This can be anything from world lore to feature suggestion/changes to existing ones. I can't accommodate everyone but I will do my utmost to take on board as much as I can.

You can also use the following links to report bugs within the game mode.

Access & Rules
There will be a password set on the server for the duration of the test. This is because this is the first time the gamemode is being tested with more than just myself and Logan. I am expecting issues to crop up which would not have come up with just one or two of us playing. I am also planning to do a full database wipe for characters and factions as well as resetting all interiors created during this period back to being vacant once the server is ready to open publically.

Although this is not a full on public beta, the password will be available below for anyone who wishes to join and play to do so. I will set out some rules for this, which if broken may lead to punishment and potential ban from the server once it is ready for a wider release.
  • No use of trainers/hacking tools are permitted
    • Mods that give you an unfair advantage against others are also not allowed
    • Otherwise mods are allowed however, please note we will not support with issues that pertain to using those mods
  • Abuse of any kind against another person is not tolerated
  • Please do not abuse the bugs you find, report them so we can get them fixed
  • Be generally courteous of other players
  • Roleplay rules are not enforced during this period as it is mostly for testing and messing around
    • By all means please do some roleplay if you want to try out some character concepts or factions during this test
Final Points & Server IP / Password
There is no planned timeframe for a full public release. I will monitor the progress made throughout this phase and determine when it is best time to unlock the server and go fully public. This will all depend on how stable the gamemode is and how feature complete it feel, as well as factors such as staffing structure, lore and documentation completion.

I advise using the Open.MP client alongside installing SA-MP 0.3DL. Please note you cannot connect to the server using the 0.3.7 or other clients due to the nature of how the custom skins are implemented.

You can connect to the server with the following details:
IP: 116.203.146.82:7777
Password: Nuts7bolts
